ESOL

At Young Middle School, the ESOL Department, led by Ms. M. Adams and Mrs. Y. Snyder, empowers multilingual learners to achieve academic success while celebrating the diversity of their languages and cultures. Our mission is to ensure that all voices are uplifted, heard, and celebrated. We value inclusion, equity, and representation across our classrooms and community.

Our department creates meaningful opportunities for students to share their identities and learn from one another through cultural events and classroom projects that promote pride, understanding, and global citizenship. We extend this work beyond the classroom by strengthening connections with families and collaborating with the community to support the whole child.

We have also developed a strong bridge between elementary, middle, and high school by maintaining communication with ESOL teachers across all grade levels, meeting students and families early, visiting feeder schools, and inviting high school mentors, to ensure lasting support from elementary through graduation.
