Jean Childs Young Middle School is an authorized School for the Middle Years Programme. This school has gained its authorization as an IB World School as of 2024. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that Jean Childs Young Middle School believes is important for our students.

The mission of Jean Childs Young Middle School is to prepare students to be globally competitive through rigorous and equitable instruction, a continuum of care and services, andactive partnerships with parents and community stakeholders.
What is MYP?
The MYP is the International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Program (in England, that would be Programme!) The MYP is for students in 6th through 10th grades.
We are part of the Mays Cluster. The MYP program is a continuum within our cluster, beginning in elementary schools (PYP) and transitioning to 9th-12th grade at Benjamin E. Mays High School.
